There is nothing -- absolute NOTHING -- half so much worth doing
as simply messing-about in boats.

Spalted dogwood that I have hauled around for over 2 years now while we built this house. Finally got a chance to resaw a little last night and see what was inside the log.  I was not disappointed!

It doesn't turn well at all. Not sure what I will do with it just yet. I have a lot of this. I have (3) 7'-9' long logs roughly 8" in dia.  Of course each log will look different  but dogwood spalts into some amazing colors. So I expect each one will be special.

I am going to be careful with it. I am thinking of making boxes and using this as an panel. Maybe a mantel clock with this inserted in the front. Not sure yet. Just wanted to show you what I found. I was very happy to see this!

You should send me one or two pieces to evaluate for you and give you a good honest opinion.  Rolling Eyes
