Site Updates: Privacy Policy and Google Ads

Privacy Policy
Our new privacy policy is at messing-about.com Privacy Policy.   Nothing's changed, but we have it in writing now.

Google Ads
Google has accepted messing-about.com for their targeted "Google Ads" program.  This gives messing-about.com some minor income as the advertisers pay Google.com (and us) each time someone clicks on the ad and goes to the advertiser's site.  I generally don't like banner ads, but Google has done these right ... they are unobtrusive text-only ads.  They appear at the bottom of the Web Forum pages.  

If one interests you, go ahead and click on it.  We get a small commission for each click through.  Please do not click indescriminately, though; we don't want to inflate the true interest of our members and get suspended from the program.  

As explained in the Privacy Policy, we can't vouch for the advertisers, and you need to verify them yourself before doing business with them.

I noticed the little adds just a while ago! Good for you!  I know you can't continue to provide this on your own; I hope you will someday see the even mark or even an income!

With the web hosting and Amazon.com revenue, I break even about 1/3 of the time.  So the balance of the cost is not so bad.  There are more expensive hobbies!

Yeah, try little British sports cars for an expensive hobby! I've got two and they are draining my boat-building coffers fast. Actually the ads can come in handy. I popped into one and have been shopping it for a trailer!

I didn't really notice the ads because they don't bounce or vibrate or scream.  Oddly tasteful.  Frank, your ingenuity in running this site is always impressive.
