There is nothing -- absolute NOTHING -- half so much worth doing
as simply messing-about in boats.

I found another lake,  Rolling Eyes and like the last one, it is now my favorite place to sail. Laughing There is not a single house or cabin on this lake, just the US Federal Park, a very nice one too. There isn't even a boat launch fee for the excellent launch site.

There are islands to explore, and nice camp sites to stay at on them.

I camped four days on the lake in my Vacationer the Aurora Wolf. I was very comfortable with lights, fan, stereo, and even and ellectric heater for taking the chill off in the AM.  Wink  I didn't even put a dent in the charge on the battery, thanks to all you Men who helped me with the electrics.

My wife Joan and I had some company, Angelika and Lars Opland with their boat the Loon. Next year I hope to lure a few more SV's to Hidden Lake for a little messabout.

Taking a break at the far end of the lake, we scavanged the beach for drift wood and fresh water snail shells. Of coarse the Wolf was impaitent and didn't care for the crew abandoning her for the shore.

My idea of a perferct vacation, even though I caught my wife's cold and went sick, hacking my lungs out. There wasn't nothing going to keep me from missing this last sail. I got better as the days went by but it wouldn't have mattered I still had fun and it sure beat staying home sick.  Twisted Evil

Mike, Nice photos. Looks and sounds like another neat spot.

Soon as you get all of these places properly discovered we'll have to emplore you to lead us to them.

We're trying hard for a launching this week end. If you'd like, stop on by and take a look. I'm usually out there late and very early "rubbing the boat."

Wow!  What a great lake to sail on.  I think I understand why there are so many Alaskan builders now ... you have the places to sail!

Great photos Mike.   I remember some of the beautiful lakes in Alaska from dropping in on them to fish .  Nary a boat or person to be found anywhre.  Just nature all over the place.  Challenge is getting a boat to them.
Without question some of the most beautiful country in the world.  Thanks for sharing.  As if I need more incentive.  I'm chomping at the bit already. Sad

wow, that's absolutely beautiful up there. You are lucky to have such nice areas close by. Uncrowded too from the looks, nice and peaceful! I was wondering, what are the water temps?

Sorry I really don't know. Maybe Mark has an idea. Oh great! Now I'll have to add a thermometer to my boat gagets.  Laughing  I stopped wondering about the temp when it made my teeth chatter.  The young ones stay in all day it seems. Any thing above the waist tends to change my voice if that helps Rolling Eyes

Mike,

I guess it is asking too much and it would be unfair to the rest of the crowd, but it should be prohibited to show such pictures on the Forum. I AM GETTING VERY HOMESICK!!!!

Beautiful lakes and they look like about perfect for our types of boates.

Seriously, keep the pictures coming, but distribute them well (not too many in one load to avoid too hard symptoms).
