There is nothing - absolute nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing-about in boats

Mike pennington brought out the Aroura Wolf and graciously met my family and I and took us for a few sails this weekend. All had a great time with sailing and conversation. It was especially nice to meet in person someone from the boards and see an actual working craft.  Like many Weekender builders I have littel idea of how to actually sail the boat we're building (other than from the construction video.) So being able to sail with an experienced sailor gave us a better idea of where all of this construction is heading.

And a side benefit was that my better half, having never sailed found out she liked it. That should help free up a bit more boat building time.

I’m sure we’ll do it all again.

Thanks Mark,

We will definately have to get Doreen back out on the sail boat again to reinforce that thought.

I was contacted today by email by another Weekender builder from Anchorage. He saw my Vacationer on Big Lake last Labor Day it seems. I am going to have all kinds of sailing Pals next summer for sure.

I retrieved my boat of many colors Monday about noon. Went for a short sail, the sun even came out for me and lasted until I got the boat ready for the road. Thanks again for the beach.
